The villa was built in 2009 at the idyllic site of Plaka Apokoronos , Chania giving to the wonderful gulf of Suda and the range of White Mountains. It's only 600 m away from the traditional village of Plaka and 1400m from the sandy beach of Almyrida which is awarded with a''blue flag'' for its clear blue waters every year.
There is Health Center 8kms away and at 4kms there are all services[ bank, post office e.t.c]. At 16kms lies the Port of Suda and the Chania Airport is 25kms away.
In the area, the ''ZORBAS'' legendary film with Anthony Quinne was filmed based on the book of Nikos Kazantzakis.
The villa is the perfect holiday place as it combines quiet stay, perfect climate, cretan hospitality and easy access to sights like the Apteras Castle, KournasLake,Samaria Gorge, ChaniaEnetic port e.t.c.
At 1300m distance and near the entrance of Almirida village there is the excavation of a 6th century B.C. old christian basilica ruins with excellend mosaic floor.
On the left of the villa there is the Drepanokephala hill and the Drepano cape where one can findthe ''Elephants cave'' a 60x60 underwater hall full of stalactites and stalagmites, at 10m sea deep. At the Kokkino chorio[ Red village] which is 600m away there are the mines made during the german occupation period and a hand-made glass factory.
There are plenty of traditional tavernas , cafe, mini markets and other shopping facilities all around the area.
The natural surroundings of the villa are perfect for walks in the nature. The gorge that lies just in front of the villa ends up at the sea and the rocky coast of Nerospillia suitable for a picnic is definitely worth visiting.

In a range of 4 km you can find all the basic and public services (banks, post office, super markets, internet café, etc.) in the village of Kalives.
The Sights
In the surrounding area, the castle of Aptera, lake Kournas, the Samaria Gorge, the tombs of the Venizelos family, the Venetian port and many other attractions, are all worth visiting.
In Almirida one can find the remains of a basilica dating from the 11th century, while near the villa there are also hill Drepanokefala and cape Drepanon. At the seabed of cape Drepanon, at a depth of 10 m, there is the cave "Elephant Cave". It is a 60 m x 60 m cave full of stalactites and stalagmites.
Just 700 m from the villa, in the Red Village, you can enjoy magical moments from the film Zorbas the Greek, starring Anthony Queen. There, the mines from the period of the German occupation of Greece still survive until today. Don't miss a visit at the traditional glass workshop of the Red Village, where you can find unique, handmade glass creations.
